We take great pride in producing beautiful crowns that fit in with the aesthetic of your smile.
The Treatment
Crowns fit over the top of a compromised tooth, fortifying it and improving its appearance. You might need a crown if a tooth has become cracked, chipped, stained or decayed.
You can expect the following steps on your crowns treatment journey with us:
Step 1) Assessment – a thorough examination of your mouth is performed.
Step 2) Preparation – digital photos and impressions of your teeth are taken, allowing us to accurately create your crown. We will carefully file down your tooth so that it’s able to accommodate the crown and the dental technician will create your crown to match your exact tooth shade and shape.
Step 3) Fitting – once your crown is ready, at a second appointment we will fit your crown and cement it in place using a special curing light.
The benefits of crowns
- Completely bespoke solution for damaged or decayed teeth – the colour and shape will be matched to your own teeth.
- Durable solution that fortifies individual teeth.
- Smile confidently again with a fully restored tooth.
- Crowns strengthen a tooth after root canal treatment and restore its aesthetic.
FAQs
How long will my crown last?
With good care, a crown can last for 10 years. A good at-home oral hygiene routine, and attending routine dentist and hygienist appointments will underpin the health of your crown.
Is getting a crown painful?
As a local anaesthetic is used, you shouldn’t experience any discomfort when we prepare your teeth for a crown. If you’re particularly nervous about treatment, we can offer sedation for nervous patients which can help relax you whilst you’re in the dentist’s chair. Our top priority is to make you feel comfortable with your surroundings and with the idea of undergoing treatment.
