Dentures
Love your smile again and live your life to the fullest with a full set of teeth, thanks to bespoke and beautifully made dentures. Dentures can be used to replace missing teeth or a full arch of missing teeth.
The Treatment
Step 1) Assessment – a thorough examination of your mouth is performed.
Step 2) Preparation – a digital scan of your teeth is taken, allowing us to accurately create a completely bespoke set of dentures. The aesthetic and fit will be completely in harmony with your existing teeth, facial features and facial profile.
Step 3) Fitting – Once your dentures have been created by the dental technician, we can invite you back to the practice for a fitting appointment. Your dentist will make sure your teeth bite comfortably together, and that the dentures look and feel natural.
The benefits of dentures
- Modern dentures are incredibly authentic in their appearance.
- Feel more confident when you show off your smile.
- No more limitations on what you can and can’t eat.
FAQs
Is it possible to secure dentures in place with implants?
Yes. In fact, implant-supported dentures are superior to conventional dentures. The presence of the implants means a greater level of stability is achieved, so there’s no risk whatsoever of them slipping out of place as you go about your day. Implant supported dentures are perfect for keeping a lower denture in place.
Implant-supported dentures also protect the jawbone from wasting away. In turn, this protects your facial structures (particularly the cheek and lip area) from appearing thin, shapeless and hollow.
What are dentures like today?
Dentures designs have significantly improved over the past decade – they’re not simply made for chewing, but to give patients a comfortable set of teeth that look and feel authentic.
New materials allow us to provide flexible dentures which can feel more comfortable. Digital dentures allow us to make dentures from a single digital scan. If you have no remaining teeth conventional dentures using intraoral impressions are the most accurate way to ensure your dentures fit comfortably.
How do I know if I need new dentures?
A few tell-tale signs that it’s time for a new set of dentures include:
- Your gum tissue is irritated.
- Your dentures are cracked or chipped.
- Your dentures are frequently slipping and sliding around in your mouth.
