The Treatment

Step 1) Consultation – Before any treatment takes place, we will need to ask you a few questions about your medical history.

Step 2) Treatment planning – The needle tip is adjusted accordingly once we have ascertained your individual needs. A topical anaesthetic is used to numb the areas receiving treatment. Once the electric Microneedling pen has been administered over the targeted areas, an SPF is applied to protect your skin in the days after treatment.

Post-Microneedling, topical additions like PRP (Platelet-rich plasma therapy) can be applied. PRP therapy uses the healing properties in your own blood, to rejuvenate certain skin conditions. Your blood is extracted and the platelets are isolated and spun in a centrifuge. It’s then re-administered to targeted locations across the skin.

This is highly beneficial, as once Microneedling has created micro-channels in your skin, it becomes receptive to beneficial healing properties brought about by PRP treatment.

Are there any side effects after treatment?
It’s normal to experience some redness slight bruising after treatment. However, this shouldn’t last longer than 24 hours.

Do I need more than one treatment session?
This will depend on the skin condition being treated, and on your own individual healing response. On average, 4-6 sessions are required for the full benefits of treatment to be seen. You will then need treatment every 4-6 months to maintain the results.
